Welcome to MFS Section

The Monitoring Facilities Support (MFS) Section is part of the International Monitoring System (IMS) Division, which is part of the CTBTO.

Together with the Engineering and Development (ED) and Network & Systems Supports (NSS) sections, as well as the other division of the PTS, the Station Operators and hosting countries we work on the sustainment of the monitoring network during its entire life cycle.

Our particular Mandate within the IMS Mission is to ensure optimal support and maintenance to IMS facilities.
What we Do
Our responsibility is to provide Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) to the IMS network, including level two maintenance support to the operators of the facilities, life cycle costs modelling, logistics support analysis, just in time sparing and parts/consumables replenishment, configuration and document management, etc. to ensure timely and cost-effective overall life cycle support.

We are also in charge of the shipping & storage of IMS equipment, archiving of radionuclide samples, and the maintenance of the Database Of the Technical Secretariat (DOTS) which captures essential IMS stations life cycle, configuration and logistics information
